As you probably already know, yesterday marked the release of three brand new amiibo for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Perhaps the highlight was Rare’s bear and bird duo from the legendary Banjo-Kazooie series.
A lot of superfans out there are now posting pictures of this particular figurine on social media, and well, some individuals seem to be more interested in its base. For whatever reason, they’re impressed by the Microsoft copyright – noting how “interesting” it is to see the name of the American tech giant on a Nintendo product.
On the bottom of the Banjo & Kazooie amiibo, there’s a Microsoft copyright. The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Start Menu has Microsoft labeled under the copyrights—so this isn’t shocking at all, but it’s an interesting to see “Microsoft” on an amiibo. Steve’s will be the same. pic.twitter.com/LVzaldvtyC— Dan’s Nintendo Feed (@TheNintendoFeed) March 26, 2021

Some things I noticed, first, the Jiggy that’s used as a stand for the figure is actually off shape compared to the regular Jiggy shape, which is odd but doesn’t bother me at all. Second, it’s cool seeing Microsoft’s name on a nintendo product! Overall, great Amiibo. pic.twitter.com/rig2QVyzxJ— ❄Crafty❄- Kinda bored with life ngl (@Craffie_) March 26, 2021

バンジョーのフィギュアの裏、Nintendoと Microsoftが並んでるの面白過ぎませんか pic.twitter.com/tTvQvUvBMy— ししゃモ (@sya_mo) March 26, 2021

It’s now got Smash players wondering what the base of Steve might look like. As explained by the Twitter user TheKrazyStew, Mojang is featured in the character credits of the game, whereas Banjo’s was just labelled with Microsoft. So brace yourself for similar social media reactions whenever the Minecraft amiibo drops.
Just booted up the game to double-check, and yeah, Mojang is in the character credits completely separate from Microsoft. I guess we’ll just have to see when the amiibo comes out, though. pic.twitter.com/VGLDwHYOdI— Krazy-Stew (@TheKrazyStew) March 26, 2021

In case you’re wondering, the other recently released amiibo, Terry Bogard – from the Fatal Fury and King of FIghters series – has SNK Corporation on its base.
