Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Thursday stated the federal government is in a position for a probe into the “entire Karnal episode”, together with an IAS officer’s arguable remarks and a police lathicharge on farmers that has precipitated a sit-in outdoor the district headquarters.

The minister made it transparent that “nobody can be hanged without a probe just because someone demands it”.

Sinha used to be the previous SDM of Karnal ahead of being transferred as a part of a bigger bureaucratic reshuffle. Farm union leaders have maintained that switch isn’t a punishment.

“We are ready for an impartial probe, but this will not only be related to (former Karnal) SDM (Ayush Sinha), but the entire Karnal episode. In this (probe), if farmers or their leaders are found guilty, then whatever action is deemed fit will be taken,” Vij instructed newshounds in Ambala.

The minister, alternatively, stated, “Only genuine demands (of farmers protesting in Karnal) can be accepted.”

“We cannot hang anyone because someone says so…Is the country’s IPC (Indian Penal Code) different from that of the farmers? It cannot be like this and punishment is always given as per the offence committed. To find out the offence, a probe has to be conducted,” stated Vij relating to their call for of postponing the IAS officer.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha had previous stated a homicide case must be registered in opposition to Sinha over his alleged remarks to policemen.

About the farmers protesting in Karnal, he stated other people had the correct to carry a protest in a calm way.

“Farmers are holding an agitation in Karnal which is their democratic right,” stated Vij, including, “Our officers are continuously retaining talks with them. Dialogue is an integral a part of democracy.”

Meanwhile, the Haryana govt has prolonged the suspension of cellular Internet products and services within the district until Thursday middle of the night, an order issued by way of state Home Department stated.
