ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Steelers’ quarterback: ‘They are by no means going to bench Ben Roethlisberger’
On ESPN’s “Get Up!” Thursday, NFL insider Adam Schefter stated that the Pittsburgh Steelers gained’t be creating a quarterback alternate, as long as Ben Roethlisberger is on the helm in Pittsburgh.
“They are never gonna bench Ben Roethlisberger,” Schefter stated. “It’s never gonna get to that. So he has to figure out a way to play better, make better decisions and elevate this team.”
“[The Steelers] are never going to bench Ben Roethlisberger. It’s never going to get to that.”

When Schefter stated that, it sped across the web as though Schefter used to be breaking some type of information tale.
But he wasn’t. That clip from Schefter has in large part been misrepresented as “a report.” That wasn’t actually a file such a lot because it used to be an opinion. Or simply an educated viewpoint.
Schefter didn’t quote someone. He didn’t even cite any nameless resources. He simply complicated his view of the placement. Maybe he’s were given some within intelligence from the entrance place of job or possession. But if that is so, he didn’t provide it as such. He simply presented a private trust.
I’m no longer mad at Schefter. I’m no longer being essential in the slightest degree. He can be offering no matter interpretation he desires.
I’m simply do away with by means of the presentation of what he stated by means of the remainder of … smartly … the unfastened international on Twitter.
Fellow ESPN NFL reporter and previous ESPN Steelers beat reporter Jeremy Fowler later echoed Schefter’s statements.
Yep. I were given a ‘heck no’ once I requested about this not too long ago. https://t.co/5OUPL0mQ5d

If you squint, Fowler’s tweet is a bit of bit extra of a “report” than Schefter’s. At least Fowler “asked” … somebody. Presumably, somebody related to the Steelers group.
Either means, you presently have two newshounds at one of the crucial NFL’s flagship companions telling you that they don’t assume there are any plans for the Steelers to bench Roethlisberger.
Add me to that blend. I don’t assume the Steelers are going to bench Roethlisberger both. Unless he will get injured.
Oops. Sorry. I forgot so as to add the quotes. I’ll take a look at once more.
Unless Roethlisberger will get “injured.”
Don’t get me incorrect, taking part in in the back of that offensive line, Roethlisberger is hanging his lifestyles at the line any time he is taking a snap. He may just legitimately get injured. Badly. And I fear about that. For him.
That stated, he may just additionally get …“injured.” If you get my float. And then, that’s when Mason Rudolph and/or Dwayne Haskins, may just get a glance.
Behind that offensive line, I’d counsel having a look away.
For their sakes. And yours.
