today, one of the candidates for California governor to kick off a bus tour in Sacramento with a £1000 bear beside him. Republican john cox held a news conference in Sacramento’s miller park. Behind him was the bear as a prop cox has spent $5 million to run tv ad campaigns to feature him standing next to that bear. He calls it the meat the beast campaign. This bear was born in captivity. That wasn’t my doing, it wasn’t anybody’s doing, it was just born in captivity and therefore its mother. I didn’t have an opportunity to teach it how to fish or hunt for berries or other things like that. So it couldn’t be in the wild. So this bear has had just an absolutely wonderful life. It’s protected fully. It’s bad. It’s taken care of and if it were out in the wild, it would, it would die very, very quickly. And so that’s not humane in the least. Uh, so believe me, we’ve made sure that everything about this bear is taking care of any utmost. Now there are still some steps that remain before recall gets put before voters, but it is expected to happen in the fall. Cox is going to be visiting six cities in three days. The second stop for the bus tour is the french laundry restaurant in Yonville.
