A Jeffersontown grocery store has been cleared of any threat after law enforcement officers were called out to investigate a suspicious package.The Kroger on Taylorsville Road in the Stony Brook Shopping Center was evacuated Wednesday afternoon by the Jeffersontown Police Department.Few details were released when the evacuation occurred except that officers were looking into the suspicious package. The Louisville ATF was also called to the scene.Around 4:30 p.m., the ATF deployed a robot to investigate the package in the store. The robot was on scene for hours while the teams investigated the item.It wasn’t until around 6:30 p.m. that police gave the all-clear.Officials said in an update that the evacuation occurred after an individual came into the store with a suitcase-type item. Store associates became concerned after the suitcase was left behind, and they called police and evacuated the store.Jeffersontown police then arrived and reviewed the surveillance footage of the individual who could be seen walking around the store with a shopping cart. When the individual left the store, he left the suitcase behind.According to police, the robot used X-rays to look over the suitcase and determined it was safe for officers to examine. Inside were miscellaneous items, including clothing and wiring.Officials none of the items were dangerous.Police are still reviewing the surveillance footage to see if they can identify the man.
